Hi, I’m Vishal Deeplaul, Investor, Entrepreneur, Consultant and Sustainability Advocate. Over the last 3 decades, whilst growing my global mining, leadership and business career with the likes of BHP and South32 across 3 continents, I commercialised and invested in several businesses including mining process technology, property development and sustainability. I have helped optimise many businesses over this time and led 3 significant business turnarounds, and in one instance turned a company operating in 3 countries with 700 people, increasing its ROI from 3% to over 25% in 4 years. As part of my continued entrepreneurial journey, I am the co-owner of Munch Innovation Pty ltd, and have the distributorship rights for the MunchBowls™, a compostable edible cutlery item, in Australia, which will displace 10 million plastic and non-recyclable plastic bowls in 5 years. Some of my recent achievements include concluding multi-billion dollar contracts for bulk ore logistics and green hydro power supply in Africa, leading detailed engineering studies for a major iron ore project, and turning around loss-making businesses by implementing strategic and operational excellence initiatives. I am skilled in commercial negotiations, risk and change management, supply chain and marketing, and business budgeting and planning. Commercial negotiations- negotiated several billion dollar deals in long term take or pay contracts for logistics and power purchase agreements.
